My previous experiences as a preschool teacher and dance instructor of juvenile delinquents as well as my work as a Professor of Education constitute the background for my work as a teacher educator. As a teacher educator, I have extensive experience in:
a)designing a degree program in teacher education and obtaining State approval for it
b)offering survey courses in which candidates learn about constructivist and sociocultural theories and research underlying classroom practice;
c)developing methods courses in which candidates practice their knowledge and skills in the classroom with young children;
d)offering clinical supervision in a supportive context in which the candidates reflect on their classroom practices; and
e)helping candidates learn about portfolio development as a presentation of their professional identify and as an assessment tool of their performance.
